Plain-language summary of what we collect, why, and how long we keep it.

Last updated: April 23, 2026

Short version

  • We collect only what we need to run the site and reply to you.
  • We never sell or rent your data.
  • We use a minimal set of analytics to understand which articles people read.
  • You can ask us to delete any of your data at any time.

What we collect

When you subscribe, donate, or contact us, we collect the information you voluntarily give us — typically name and email. For donations, payment details are handled by our processor (e.g. Stripe); we don't store full card numbers.

When you browse the site, our server logs your IP address, user agent, and the pages you request. This is used for security (blocking abuse) and aggregate analytics. Raw logs are retained for no more than 30 days.

Cookies & analytics

We use a small session cookie to keep you signed in if you have an account, and a privacy-friendly analytics tool that does not track you across other websites.

Some pages may load third-party widgets (e.g. embedded video). When you interact with those widgets, the provider may set its own cookies; we link to each provider's policy where relevant.

Your rights

You may request a copy of your data, corrections, or deletion at any time by emailing privacy@example.org. If you live in the EU, UK, or California, you have additional rights under GDPR/CCPA; we honor them regardless of location.

Children

The site is intended for a general audience. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13.
